Official Puggernaut Rulebook

General Rules
Last Updated: Sunday, December 13, 2009 by Thorhoof.
1. Puggernaut is not a guild. Please do not leave your guild to join the Puggernaut Community. Puggernaut does not engage in guild recruiting of any kind.
2. You are expected to arrive 10 min before raids you plan to attend. You are also expected to stay for the entire raid (usually 3-4 hours). Failing to do so will adversely effect your future eligibility.
3. As a member of the Puggernaut community, people skills are very important. We do not tolerate foul behavior, poor sportsmanship, rudeness or angry outbursts. As a member of Puggernaut, you agree to treat your fellow raiders with respect and dignity.
4. Your "raider rating", which is used to determine which level of raiding you qualify for, is based upon three factors: 1) Your gear score. 2) Your raiding achievement point totals. 3) Your people skills.
5. Favoritism of any kind whatsoever will not be tolerated at all.
6. You must have Vent and a working microphone available for all raids.
7. No "back seat raiding" allowed. You are welcome and even ecouraged to listen to the raid in Vent if you are not raiding. Howerver, anyone not raiding is asked to keep quiet, not offer advise unless asked and not whisper raiders unless asked.
8. You must study and know all raid encounter game content you are participating in, before your participate.
9. You agree to bring all raid consumables for yourself, including flasks, pots, meds, foods, etc.
(NEW as of 12/13/09)
10. DKP has been eliminated entirely. This is a good thing because it means no one has contested since the
founding of Puggernaut. We feel it is in the best interest of the community and makes playing more fun if we
just eliminate dkp all together.
(Begin OLD as of 12/13/09)
10. We use a very logical and fair DKP system, strictly for attendance purposes only. DKP is awarded every 15 minutes you are in the raid. However, loot is simply fair roll, "need" for your current spec (note: changing specs in a raid is not allowed) or "greed" for secondary spec. The purpose of our DKP system is to ensure serious players are rewarded priority status for their previous attendance record. Likewise, players who leave the raid early for whatever reason may, at the discression of the raid leader, have to pay a penalty DKP (at the descrition of the raid leader). This is usually half of the total DKP award for the event. If the player leaves a raid more than three times in this manner, he/she is blacklisted and removed from the Puggernaut Community.
(Finish OLD as of 12/13/09)
11. Raid sign-ups are on a "first come, first serve" basis, however, the raid leader for each raid has the right to final decision when building the raid team. This is to ensure proper raid group balance and individual raid member experience is utilized to its fullest extent.
12. If you can't attend a raid you signed up for you must post in the "AFK" forum. Players who do not post at least 6 hours prior to the scheduled raid start time may have to pay a dkp demerit equal to the full amount earned by the raid (subject to raid leader discression).
13. All Puggernaut raiders must have and be using Deadly Boss Mods add-on. Paladins must use PallyPower. Healers must use Healbot.
14. It is highly recommended that you join our in-game chat channel. You can do so by typing /join Puggernaut This will help you stay connected with what is going on with Puggernaut. Also, it is one of the first places we look for replacements when raiding.
15. Raid Cancellation Policy 10-man Raids If no more than three people sign up the raid leader has the option to cancel or reschedule the raid. In most cases, we try to reschedule so that those who did sign up will have another opportunity. 25-man Raids Same policy but if less than nine people sign up.
16. Team Leaders & Assistant Team Leaders: During the sign-ups period the raid leader will choose a both a Team Leader & an Assistant Team Leader from those players who he or she slots for the raid. To qualify you simply need to be an active Puggernaut community member, whom has proven trustworthy, dependable and knows the fights. This can be any Puggernaut member and the raid leader will always try to choose a different Team Leader & Assistant for each raid. The purpose of the Team Leader & Assistant is to ensure the raid continues to move forward as planned if the Raid Leader gets disconnected and is not able to rejoin the raid. If this happens, the Team Leader will assume command, lead the raid and begin keeping a tally of dkp of each player in the raid, using pen and paper. After the raid finishes, the Team Leader shall report the dkp to the Raid Leader and the Raid Leader will make the necessary adjustments to his log and upload the data to the Puggernaut website. Should both the Raid Leader and the Team Leader disconnect or are unable to continue with the raid for whatever reason, the Assistant Raid Leader will take charge and assume the same responsibilities.
Loot Rules
Last Updated: Monday, July 27, 2009 By: Rorax
The goal of the following loot rules is to support the Puggernaut motto, "Progression for All", while rewarding loyal community members for their continued efforts.
Article One:
General Rules
A) Loot shall be distributed by means of fair roll. This means "main spec" goes first and "off spec" goes second.
B) If no one in the raid rolls on any given item it will be disenchanted and at the end of the raid, those who did not win anything during the raid will be given the option to roll for the shards.
C) When looting using "Group Loot" please keep in mind we consider this "Gentleman's rules for looting". Raiders are encouraged to be mindful when looting and not "need roll" on anything that is not a big upgrade or "meant for" use by another class.
D) In cases where there is debate over "meant for", raiders must call "Gentleman's Discrepancy" and request a vote. At this point, the raid will stop while this issue is sorted out. Raid leaders will first hear out raider's claims (both for and against) then the entire raid will decide by silent vote (whisper to raid leader).
E) If "Gentleman's Discrepancy" takes more than 10 minutes, raid leaders will decide for the raid. This way the raid event continues to move forward. And don't worry, your loot will indeed drop again. Today is not the end of the world!
Article Two:
Group Loot vs. Master Loot
A) Unless special circumstances present the need, or if the raid leader prefers, "Group Loot" shall be used in all instances except Ulduar (at the time of this writing, which means "the end game instance").
B) "Master Loot" shall be used at all times in end-game instances (such as Ulduar).
Article Three:
"Declared Spec" vs. "Drafted Spec"
A) In all instances raiders must remain their "declared spec" (the spec they signed up with and entered the raid with, aka "main spec") and not change spec unless asked to do so by raid leaders.
B) With respect to changing specs as expressed in Article Three, Subsection A, this rule only applies in the following situations:
1. When a tank is asked to dps by raid leaders.
2. When a healer is asked to dps by raid leaders.
3. When a damage dealer is asked to tank by raid leaders.
4. When a damage dealer is asked to heal by raid leaders.
C) In all instances except end-game instances such as Ulduar, if a player is asked to change specs for a given boss fight(s), he/she will be given the option to choose which type of loot to roll on, e.g. "dps gear" or "prot gear" or "holy gear".
D) In end-game instances (such as Ulduar at the time of this writing), even if the player is asked to change specs for a given boss fight(s), he/she can only roll on his/her "declared spec" (see Subsection "A").
Article Four: Amount of Loot, Privileges to Loot & End-game Loot
A) There is no limit to the amount of loot one can roll on and/or receive. Puggernaut is about keeping things fun and simple. The luck of the draw may not be in your favor today but it might be next week...
B) In end-game instances (such as Ulduar), Puggernaut members will receive first choice (any rank) when rolling on "Tier Gear" and items that are ranked 226 and above. If no Puggernaut member wants the "Tier Gear" or "226 gear" then guest raiders may roll on it. That said, this applies strictly and only to "Tier Gear" and "226 and above" gear, and only in end-game instances (such as Ulduar). The reason for this is to reward our community members for their loyalty and hard work, while also encouraging guest raiders to join the Puggernaut Community.
