Blizzard tells Diablo III fans to lower their expectations

If you expect people with swords and the color brown, your expectations are definitely going to be met.
Are you eagerly awaiting Diablo III’s eventual release? Well, perhaps you shouldn’t be quite that eager. Community manager Bashiok recently made some comments in a thread on the official forums expressing some concern that players are getting too excited about the potential of the game and that players should instead lower their overall expectations of Diablo III. He closes by saying that fans should at the same time still purchase the game but perhaps lower the threshold of awesome it has to clear.

It’s possible to read this as an attempt to control the game’s hype before release, and it’s possible to read this as a roundabout statement of overall quality. Either way, it’s an odd statement coming from Blizzard’s public relations team, since very few developers have historically told their fans to be a little less excited for release. Of course, with that having been said, it’s unlikely that the level of excitement will go down at all. (Bashiok’s full quote is just past the cut.)

EVE Online announces an impending Inferno

EVE Online
EVE Online Senior Producer Jonathan Lander says now that some of the nitty-gritty reorganization within CCP has been completed, the devs “are back in the serious business of making EVE better and better.”

Citing several small releases over the next few months as proof, Lander lets loose with the announcement of the game’s next big expansion: Inferno. Inferno will hit EVE “just before the summer” and will attempt to bring EVE’s conflicts to a whole new level. Concord-sanctioned warfare and factional warfare will be getting tweaks as a result of this focus. More specific details about Inferno will be revealed at the EVE Fanfest in March.

And while he won’t go into specifics (yet), Lander says that CCP will reveal “more concrete steps” of how both EVE Online and DUST 514 are connected in the next couple of months.

WoW bloggers take off and unite with Sixth meme

What’s that image above? Why, that’s a screenshot of Azshara before the goblins took over, taken for our massive series of Before the Shattering galleries we put together just before Cataclysm launched. It also happens to be the sixth image from the sixth subfolder in my images folder, which leads us to a meme started by Gnomeaggedon from the blog Armageddon’s Coming — a meme that has taken off with alarming speed.

The premise is simple: Head into your images folder, select the sixth subfolder, grab the sixth image in the folder, post the image, and select six bloggers to tag for the next part of the meme. Those people post their own sixth images, tag six more bloggers, and so on. Those of you who are skilled at math can already see where this is going.

[A] Shandris <Legion> LF Healer

11:43 pm in Uncategorized by Xhexannia

One of Legion’s raid groups (ADHD as we call ourselves) is looking for a healer with a dps OS.

We value personality above ability, however, we expect that you can play your class well. We are currently 8/8 normal and are beginning to work on heroics as our roster allows. Our current raid days are Tuesday and Sunday nights 8-10:30 Server.

Again, nearly all of us are working professionals who love to raid. Real life comes first so if you are hardcore this is not the spot for you. However, if you wish to progress while maintaining other commitments shoot Nedle or Xhexannia some in game mail and we’ll see about getting to know you!

Looking for HoM partner/tips

11:40 pm in guild-wars-2 by Balfire

So I had no interest in HoM these past few months I care not for the titles and armor, but today I learned my favorite pet skin from the beta weekend (White Raven) requires 25 points. I’m looking for tips on how to quickly build these points and perhaps if anyone is interested in blazing through content this coming week, a partner in doing so. Thanks in advance.

Guild Airships

11:40 pm in Uncategorized by Markluzz

Guild Halls and such have been introduced to mmo’s before, but if we ever get to have a type of guild hall type area, it should really be a guild airship because the potential is amazing!

First guild airship would require a lot to make them and more to add everything on them. But first im going to say what they would be used for, and what features they would have.

Guild Meeting Location
Just a place for guildies to chill, and to get on the ship you can either hearth to it if its your hearth, speak to an NPC in every city (will be at a tower) called a captain, or airdock master that lets you on your ship (despite where it’s currently parked).

This also gives roleplayers a guild spot to chill at if they want their guild to have an airship

Can be flown over any point on Azeroth
Although the airship itself would be instanced you can fly it over any point on Azeroth, however it takes 1.5 hours x the amount of zones it flies over to reach the zone (to prevent it from being abused) This could be used to make it quicker to get to raids, or even fly it over a world boss location. Also when you jump off the ship you get a parachute, and un-instance yourself and land where the ship is currently positioned.

Hearth Location
You could make it your hearth spot

PvP Airship Battles
Similar to gunship in ICC, however between two different guilds (horde and alliance), with possible PvP awards for this for your guild and guild bank gold for a weekly airship battle.

Can Be Upgraded
You can farm (a large amount of mats) for different professions to do things that add on to your airship or make it stronger (such as enchants could have enchanted steel to make it’s armor stronger, or engineers could add an extra gun to it, etc. But it costs lots of mats so the guild has to work together to upgrade it)

New Location for Guild Vendors
You can have your guild vendor on the airship, and the guild leader can even set the guild vendor to sell things (like maybe items within the bank), and the money would go into the guild bank, and the guild leader could make the mats in it cheaper for the guildies to encourage contributing money to the guild.

Special “Wild” Pets
Blizzard said things about wild pets so my idea, is flying wild companion pets might get stuck in the engine or on the ship and a guild member can battle it and capture it, capturing one on the guild ship would give that player the pet and also allow that pet to be bought from the guild vendor.

Guild Dailies
The guild leader could pick x number of dailies (and gold can be spent to allow more) from a list of them that the guild members can do and it can earn mats and gold, and would be less grindy than normal dailies.

Customize It
You can farm mats and gold to add vanity things to it, like mount the heads of bosses you have killed on the walls, add a guild banner to it, paint it to match guild colors, make it larger, add NPC’s to it that do nothing but have ‘roles’ like a person at the airship mast, and wheel, and such, the guild can even name them.

Next is how do you get the Airship and improve it, well that will be a challenge

First it will cost the guild a large amount of gold to buy the “Guild Ship Basic Edition Plans”
There would be 5 editions, and you can upgrade you ship to a new edition. You can start with a higher plan if you guild desires (meaning if you guild wants they cant start with the platinum edition plans if they have the gold.)

Basic Edition – Allows 2 Cannons, will be fairly small, no customization, guild vendor (can’t pick what it sells), takes 2 hours per zone to fly through instead of 1 hour, not upgradable (or very limited upgrades), less wild pets (meaning most of the ‘cooler’ or ‘better’ ones not available or they are very rare), no guild dailies. This is a very cheap version, and most guilds that put in some effort should be able to get it.

Costs
50k gold for plans
Small amount of mats and crafts from each profession (excluding secondary)

Bronze Edition – Allows 3 Cannons, will be slightly larger, some limited customization, guild vendor (can’t pick what it sells), takes 1.75 hours per zone to fly through instead of 1 hour, limited upgrades, slightly less wild pets (meaning some of the ‘cooler’ or ‘better’ ones not available or rare), only one guild daily allowed. This will be an average cost version, and will take some concentrated effort to be able to get it.

Costs
200k gold for plans
An average amount of mats and crafts from each profession
A guild challenge (would give the guild a choice of x tasks and they pick one, would consist of killing a raid boss, winning a rated battleground, doing a challenge mode dungeon in less than x amount of time, etc. Just one though, and if you do killing a raid boss it won’t be like kill Morchok but either kill a (current) raid boss you have not killed before or if you x/x then kill the top tier raid boss or kill a boss on heroic.)

Silver Edition – Allows 4 Cannons, will be fairly large (a bit larger but around the same size as in game gunships), average accessibility to customization, guild vendor (only 2-3 slots may be custom), 1.5 hours to travel to each zone instead of 1 hour, average upgrades available, average amount of wild pets, three guild dailies allowed. This is a higher cost, and will take a good amount of effort for the guild to get.

Cost
500k gold for the plans
A fairly large amount of mats and crafts from each profession
3 Guild Challenges, and 2 of them must be different kinds of challenges. (so all three can’t be kill a certian raid boss)

Gold Edition – Allows 6 Cannons, will be large, have a good amount of customization, a guild vendor (with 4-6 slots being custom), 1.25 hours to travel through each zone instead of one, good amount of upgrades available, a large amount of wild pets, 5 guild dailies. This a very high cost, and will take a lot of effort for the guild to get.

Cost
1000k gold for the plans
A large amount of mats and crafts from each profession
7 Guild Challenges, and 4 of them must be different kinds of challenges

Platinum Edition – Allows 10 Cannons, will be very large, have full customization, a guild vendor (with 10-12) slots being custom, 1 hour to travel through each zone, full access to upgrades, all the wild pets, 7 guild dailies. This is an extremely high cost, and will take tons of effort for the guild to get it. Is for the best of the best guilds.

Cost
10000k gold for the plans
A very large amount of mats and crafts from each profession
20 Guild Challenges, and no more than 5 of the same kind of challenge.

A cape for Tier 13?

11:36 pm in Uncategorized by Trassk

I love tier 13, this is perhaps my most favourite set since the skyshatter set, but I’ve one problem. I can’t find a good cape to go with it, even when searching atlas loot to transmog.

The only one I found that kind of went with it was http://www.wowhead.com/item=35321/cl…rcane-alacrity, but the tones were to dark for the rest of the set.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for a good tier 13 shaman cloak?

About us
Progress Denied was created in February 2011 by a group of friends that emerged from a bigger guild here on Kazzak EU. Our goals with this project is to reach higher levels of thrill through raiding, crush our enemies in arena or battlegrounds and to do all this while having great fun together. In short, we value the social aspect of this game combined with steady and good quality raiding.

Raiding days and hours
Monday: 19:00 – 23:00.
Wednesday: 19:00 – 23:00.
Tuesday: 19:00 – 23:00. (Cleanup raid)

You’re a social, dedicated player who can perform well in a raiding environment. You got a burning passion for killing dragons and understand your own class very well aswell as basic game mechanics. Furthermore, we expect you to keep your attendance in raids at a very good level.
